Psychologist
Location: Mount Isa, QLD
Rate: Up to $90.02/hr + Super + Accommodation + Travel Allowance
Contract Type: Locum | Full-Time or Part-Time options available
Duration: 6 Months

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Psychologist to join the Children’s team in Mount Isa, delivering vital services across the local region and remote communities. This role is ideal for a clinician with advanced paediatric experience who is passionate about improving health outcomes for rural communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialist developmental and psychological assessments for children in Mount Isa and surrounding remote communities
- Address complex conditions including global developmental delay, ASD, FASD, cerebral palsy, and ADHD
- Apply expert clinical judgement and work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Work within a transdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessments, interventions, referrals, and care planning
- Provide leadership in clinical governance, skill-sharing, and supervision as needed
- Offer face-to-face and telehealth services
- Participate in regular outreach travel – approximately every 6 weeks for one week at a time
About You:
- AHPRA registered Psychologist (General or Clinical)
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience, with strong clinical expertise in:
- Early intervention
- Child Development Services
- Child & Youth Mental Health
- Confident in rural/remote work settings and culturally safe care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families
- Comfortable with 4WD use and working in rural settings
- Operational or leadership experience in Queensland public health (desirable)
